Pain Management
Thirty years ago, pain management was hardly discussed at vet school. Pets were generally seen as more stoic than their Human counterparts and also never seemed to complain, so it was naively assumed that pain control was not that important. Times have changed. We now know that pets experience pain just like we do, and that the stress caused by such pain can interfere with recovery from surgical procedures, or even produce new pathology. Not to mention that allowing an animal to suffer needlessly is morally untenable. Our Veterinarians keep current with the latest concepts in pain management, and will be happy to discuss with you the best ways to alleviate your pet’s discomfort, whether from acute injury or surgical procedures, or more chronic conditions such as arthritis.
