The answer is creepy crawlers hiding on your pets!  Officially, the summer may be over, but flea and tick season definitely is not.  Normally, fleas and ticks can live well into the onset of cold weather.  Some ticks actually do very well in the cold.  And fleas often find warm, humid places to live even when the thermometer drops.  

 

BUT…this season has brought very unusual temperatures.  We’ve had hot, humid conditions continuing into the fall.  The fleas and ticks are very happy about this weather, even if we are anxious for colored leaves and cooler temperatures.
